Je suis contente que tu prends le temps de visiter cette page. My name is Rachel Metellus, and I'm an educator originally from Haiti who has lived in the U.S. for 40 years.
I've taught French as a World Language for 26 years — in Haiti, in Florida, and for the past 18 years in Georgia. I also helped build a literacy program for the Haitian community in South Florida, teaching reading and writing in Haitian Creole.
In my free time, I love to travel, discover new cultures, and learn about the history of the world around me.

This beginner-level course is designed for learners with no prior experience in Haitian Creole. It emphasizes speaking and listening, with a focus on oral communication and building a strong foundation for successful language acquisition.
Haitian Creole (Kreyòl Ayisyen) evolved in the Americas and developed into a full-fledged language after 1804. Today, more than 10 million people speak it across the Caribbean, Canada, France, and the U.S. — and in Florida, it's the most spoken language after English and Spanish.
Students learn to introduce themselves and explore the fundamentals of the language, practicing asking for and giving information through interactive dialogues.
